Buttermilk and ginger Kadhi

In this chill , windy cold weather some warm food necessary . Kadhi has many different names and version of recipes across different parts. Kadhi can be made using tamrind pulp also .Kadhi pakoras is famous north indian recipe which goes well with roti/parattha, rice.I am posting buttermilk kadhi recipe with ginger. This is basic kadhi recipe for making kadhi pakoras , make pakoras and deep it in this kadhi, For kadhi pakora. This buttermilk and ginger  kadhi is warm an soothing for cool winters also its good food , home remed to give when kids/  elders  have cold and cough. Adding green chili is optional instead red chili powder can also be added in kadhi.

Cooking time:20 min
Curd 2 cups
Besan /chickpeas flour 1 tb spoon
Ghee 1 tb spoon
Ginger 1 inch piece
garlic 5 cloves
Curry leaves 10 to 15 leaves
Green chili 2 finely chopped
Salt 1/2 tea spoon
Coriander leaves finely chopped
Cumin powder 1/2 tea spoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
Pinch of Asafoetida
Water 2 cup

Directions to cook:
  1. For making buttermilk :
    Blend curd , water , besan in blender to get buttermilk for kadhi .
  2. Heat ghee / clarified butter in kadhai /pan.
  3. Add cumin ,mustard ,asafoetida in hot ghee.
  4. Add curry leaves and green chilies in it ad saute for a minute .
  5. Add ginger garlic paste in ghee and saute for a minute.
  6. Add buttermilk made in kadhai while stirring.
  7. Let this mixture boil and add cumin powder ,turmeric powder in kadhai and cook on low flame for 5 to 6 minutes .
  8. Add finely chopped coriander and finally salt in kadhi and mix well .
  9. Cook for another 2 minutes and switch off gas. Serve kadhi with Roti / Rice/ khichadi.
