Moong sprouts appe

Sprouts are extremely nutritious food .Sprouts can be made from different seeds,beans .Moong sprouts are rich source of protein,thiamin,niacin like nutrients. And sprouts are beneficial food for good digestion and weight loss also ,so I started eating sprouts recently and daily eating plain sprouts for breakfast was getting bored, so I though of making different dishes using these wonderful sprouts.
Morning hours are very busy as everyone in house need to rush for work or school, so I came out with hassle free recipes made from healthy moong sprouts.Sprouts appe is not only quick to make but also no oil recipe.
I have added onions and coriander in it ,but any available vegetable like carrots,cabbage,flowers can be added in these balls by grating them.

Special appe pan is necessary for making appe as shown in below pic. These appe pan are easily available at utensils stores. Non stick appe pan need very less oil or no oil for making appe so prefer non stick pans.

Cooking time : 30 min
Ingredients :
Whole moong 2 cups
Onions 2 finely chopped
Coriander leaves
Green chili 4 finely chopped
Cumin powder 1/2 tea spoon
Garlic cloves 4
Oil 2 tea Spoon
Salt as per taste
Directions To Cook:
  1. For making appe batter:
    Soak whole moong in water for up to 8 -10 hours.After 8 hours drain water from soaked moong and keep moong in covered container/wet cloth(Tie moong in it tightly) and keep it aside for up to 8-10 hours or until little sprouts come out.
  2. Grind sprouts ,chilies,onions,coriander in grinder with some water to get coarse mixture .
    Take sprouts mixture add enough water,salt ,cumin powder in it and mix well.
  4. Grease appe pan with 1 tea spoon of oil.
  5. Pour batter in appe pan and cover appe pan using its lid .
  6. Cook on low flame for 5 to 6 min.Turn appe for roasting to other side with spoon and roast on both sides.
  7. Moong sprouts appe are ready and can be served with any chutaney of choice.
