Thandai lassi or flavoured buttermilk



Thandai is special drink served on festivals like holi.It's milk flavored using selected dry fruits and spices like fennel seeds and cardamoms. Thandai means coolant and its prefect coolant for this hot summer. How about making thandai  lassi and increasing taste and cooling property of this traditional drink.
Lassi is perfect cold drink /beverage as it is made from curd .Try this thandai lassi and beat the heat and get rejuvenated .Its double dose of coolant to get relief from hot summer and festival preparations.Enjoy this easy to make cold drink on the hot afternoons of holi and get a cool break from festive preparation. It will definitely refresh you. 


Cooking time: 10 min
Ingredients:
  • Curd 2 cups
  • Sugar 4 tb spoon
  • Rose water 1 tb spoon (optional)
  • Water 2 cups
  • Ice cubes 2
  • Rose petals 5-6 (optional)
  • Thandai masala powder( made from Almonds 20 ,cashews 10,cardamom 2,fennel seeds 1 tea spoon,poppy seeds 1 tea spoon ,saffron strands 2-3) 1 tb spoon
Directions to cook:
    1.For making thandai masala :
    Grind almonds ,cashews,fennel seeds,poppy seeds,cardamom in grinder to get fine powder.Thandai masala is ready.This can be used for making thandai.
    2.For making thandai lassi:
    Add curd ,thandai masala powder ,sugar in blender and whisk it for few seconds. It will make fine mixing of all ingredients.
    3.Add rose water , water in blender and blend again for few seconds to make Thandai lassi.Check consistency  if you like it more watery add more water and give a whisk again.
    4. Add ice cubes and garnish with rose petals and saffron strands .Serve chilled Thandai lassi .
