Carrots Halawa or gajar ka halawa

Carrots halawa /Gajar ka halawa is  very popular desert made up of carrots mainly. As winter is season of carrots this halawa is mostly made  in winters .Carrots are rich source of vitamin A so it is very good option for kids.
It can be made with easily available few ingredient like  carrots ,milk . Mawa /khoya  and dry fruits are optional .By adding mawa in it carrots halawa becomes  very rich in taste  and  high calories too.
I have posted here recipe of carrots halawa using only full cream milk .Instead of full cream milk condensed  milk  can  be used  but adjust  sugar quantity  accordingly  as  condensed milk have it. 

Cooking time:45 min
  • Carrots grated 2 cup,
  • Full cream milk 1/4 cup,
  • Sugar 1/2 cup,
  • Ghee 2 tb spoon,
  • Cashew 4 to 5 pieces,
  • Almond 4 to 5 pieces,
  • A pinch of cardamom powder
Directions to cook:
  1. Heat kadhai and add ghee in it.
  2. Add grated carrots in it and roast on low flame.For roasting 2 cups carrots at least 25 minutes required. Or roast till complete juice from Carrots gets evaporated and it gets translucent.
  3. After roasting Carrots add sugar in it.
  4. Add full cream milk and roasted dry fruits in halawa.Cook it for 5 to 6 more minutes.
  5. Sprinkle cardamom powder on halawa and switch off gas.
  6. Carrots halawa is ready to serve.
