How to make french beans stir fry
French beans are rich source of vitamin A,C ,B6 and calcium .I always had french beans in vegetable pulao as at my place we didn't get much french beans. I never explored many recipes of french beans, I missed so nutritious ingredient. But now as here i see lots of french beans in super markets and so i started making french beans stir fry as a side /accompaniment. Its simple curry which gets ready under 30 minutes and goes well with chapathi , paratha or naan.
Any other vegetables like carrots ,green peas can be added in this curry while frying it to make stir fry more colorful and nutrition packed as well. This curry is good option for packing lunch box of children.


Cooking time:30 min
Ingredients:
  • French beans chopped 2 cups
  • Tomato chopped 1
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Ginger crushed 1 inch piece
  • Garlic 4 cloves
  • Oil 2 tea spoon
  • Salt as per taste
  • Mustard seeds
  • Pinch of Asafoetida
  • Chili powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Cumin seeds powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Coriander powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Water 2 cup
Directions to cook:
  1. Heat oil and add r cumin and mustard seeds ,asafoetida to make tempering.
  2. Add onions and saute for 2-3 minutes .
  3. Add tomatoes ,ginger garlic crushed paste and saute for a 3-4 minute.
  4. Add turmeric powder ,chili powder ,coriander powder ,cumin powder ,salt in above fried vegetables and mix well.
  5. Add chopped french beans and mix everything well.
  6. Cook french beans stir fry for 2-3 minutes and add water as per required consistency.
  7. Cook french beans stir fry for 8-9 minutes and switch off the gas.
  8. Serve french beans stir fry as a side to chapathi ,naan or roti.
