How to make dal paratha | Kids lunch box ideas

Dal / lentil parathas are very  healthy breakfast and many people prefer to start their day by eating this wholesome and protein full parathas with curd. Any dal /lentil from toor / chana / moong dal can be used for making  these parathas. I like this parathas as they are perfect for kids lunch boxes. Its easy for kids to eat this paratha at lunch time in schools.Kids take time to eat Chapathi/ roti with curry in lunch box.Dal paratha is easy to eat as it has lentils mixed in it while making.Just apply sweet pickle /choice of sauce and make rolls of it to pack in tifin.
I m posting here toor dal paratha recipe. You can use any choice of dal instead of toor dal.Also can add grated vegetables like carrots,cabbage dough while making.



Cooking time :30 min
Ingredients:

      Wheat flour 2 cup
      Toor dal  1 cup
      Salt as per taste
      Cumin powder 1/2 tea Spoon
      Coriander powder 1/2 tea spoon
      Turmeric powder  1 pinch
      Green Chili finely crushed  4 (Optional)
      Garlic cloves 6
      Ajwain /carom seeds powder 1 tea Spoon
      Coriander leaves finely chopped small bunch
      Oil 2 tb spoon
     Water

Directions To Cook:



1.      Pressure cook toor dal in cooker for 4 whistles.
2.      After cooling cooked dal  drain excess water in it.
3.      Add chopped coriander leaves ,grated garlic,crushed chilies in  it.
4.      Add salt ,cumin powder ,carom seeds, coriander powder ,turmeric in  dal .
5.      Mix wheat flour in above dal  mixture and mix well.
6.      Add water in flour +dal mixture and knead dough. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
7.      Take handful of dough and make small circular parathas by using rolling pin.
8.      Heat  not stick tawa and roast dal parathas on both sides on low flame.
9.      Apply  oil/ ghee on both sides of parathas .
10.   Serve  Dal paratha with curd ,pickle or ketchup.
